“It took me a long time to realise it, but when I draw Krtek, I am drawing myself. ”

Zdeněk Miler
It’s Christmas at Calvert 22 and we’re celebrating in a truly fitting way with a special selection of children’s animation from Russia and Eastern Europe. Handpicked by our team, we will be screening vintage favourites from our own childhoods as well as more modern classics including Krtek the Mole and Ёжик в тумане (Hedgehog in the Fog). The event is open to all ages and we guarantee you will leave feeling nostalgic and thoroughly festive.

We’re also reaching out to you asking for contributions and suggestions to the programme. Send us your ideas and we will select a number to make up part of the day. There will also be an opportunity to share your memories of the cartoons and feedback on the Calvert 2011 programme. To contribute an animation title or book your place click here. The screenings will be accompanied by drawing packs for kids and we will be offering snacks and refreshments.
