Raising Dust
Changing territories for art across Europe

13 January, 2011

6.00 p.m. Kenneth Clark Lecture Theatre, Courtauld Institute of Art

Speakers include: Richard Appignanesi, Curator of Raising Dust; Marina Gržinić, one of the participating artists, Julian Stallabrass from The Courtauld Institute. Dr Sarah Wilson will chair the talk.

Calvert 22 and The Courtauld Institute of Art are proud to present the inaugural event of a unique series of collaborative talks between the two organisations.

Each talk in the series, which will be presented over the course of the year, takes an exhibition at Calvert 22 as a point of departure to address a range of emerging themes. Contributors will include artists and curators who are participating in Calvert 22’s programme, alongside academics and cultural commentators from The Courtauld Institute and across the arts.

Building on issues from Calvert 22's current exhibition, Raising Dust: Encounters in Relational Geography, this inaugural discussion will explore implications for artists and culture across Europe at a time of environmental anxiety and geopolitical tension.
