Unofficial Artists Album with Martina Mullaney

To coincide with the current exhibition Field of Action. The Moscow Conceptual School in Context. A special adaptation for Calvert 22 and the Arnold Circus ‘sharing picnic’, artist Martina Mullaney will create an ‘Unofficial Artists Album’ based on the photo albums made in the 1970s by the Moscow Conceptualists which were then sent to the West as a way of sharing and communicating the daily conditions of the artists’ lives. The albums included photographic records of the artists’ studios, living spaces, personal libraries, families as well as private moments such as playing in the snow and family trips.

Mullaney invites you to bring your own photographs and tell us the story around them, becoming part of Calvert 22’s Unofficial Artists Album. The photographs should tell us something about your own daily life and the spaces and people in it. Whether documenting simple events with friends and family, political demonstrations you may have engaged with, your work space, or your street, the photographs should tell us something about you and your daily reality. All photographs will be returned on the day and will be copied or scanned in. Please bring analogue photographs only or email a digital copy in advance to lina@calvert22.org.

The album will be hand-made by the artist on Sunday the 17th.

Please join us if you can, if not feel free to leave your chosen photographs and other information you might like to have included in the album at gallery reception in an envelope with full contact details if you would like to have your photographs returned.
